Our Truck Roundtable attorney winter retreat
It’s why we called our new law firm the Roundtable. And our winter retreat is what the Roundtable is all about. The idea was to bring the most experienced and respected trucking attorneys from around the nation together to roundtable cases to achieve the best results possible.
And it has worked amazing well, including on the $34 million truck accident settlement last November that Michael Leizerman and I handled, which was the largest truck accident injury settlement in the United States for 2014, according to VerdictSearch.
But our latest Roundtable meeting turned out to be so much more. This past weekend, Joe Fried, Michael and I had a nose-to-the-grindstone retreat in Michael’s Toledo, Ohio “trial bunker,” where we put our heads together on several of the most serious trucking injury cases we currently have in litigation.
Admittedly, our conversations did stray from trucking after a glass of wine (or two) in the evening. I thoroughly enjoyed our discussion that touched on why we each became attorneys who help people. Each of us walked away early in our careers from “big law” corporate jobs. Our conversation turned to issues of faith, religion and spirituality.
We’ve all been warned not to discuss these issues with friends, but we found respectful common ground. Our last roundtable in the trial bunker was a testament to our solid friendships, working relationships and mutual respect for one another. Here are some photos from our retreat.
